This service is NOT what I thought I was paying for.

UPDATE: Dropshipman ultimately resolved the financial side of my complaint. They refunded all three months of my Plus subscription—including an earlier month I had not specifically requested—and returned my unused wallet balance. I genuinely appreciate that they ultimately chose to make this right, and I want to give them credit for doing so. For this reason, I have updated my review to reflect 3 stars instead of 1.

I do have one concern about how the refund process initially unfolded. I was presented with two options: a full subscription refund while being asked to consider changing my rating to at least 4 stars if I was satisfied with the resolution, or a refund of only the most recent billing cycle with no change to my review. I told Dropshipman I would truthfully update my review to acknowledge any resolution, but I would not agree to change my rating or provide a favorable review in exchange for a refund.

To their credit, they respected that. They proceeded with the full refund anyway and ultimately refunded even more than I had requested.

I appreciate how they handled the resolution in the end. My review below remains an accurate account of my experience with the actual sourcing and fulfillment service.

I think Dropshipman may work well for inexpensive, generic products where one item can easily be substituted for another. If you sell specific products where your customer expects the exact item pictured, PLACE TEST ORDERS before building your business around this service.

Everything I'm describing occurred in writing. I have the emails, chat transcripts, screenshots and order history.

I subscribed to Dropshipman's highest-tier Plus plan. Their plan advertised thousands of Temu/AliExpress imports, expert sourcing requests, priority sourcing processing, automated order product sourcing, automated fulfillment, a dedicated account manager, VIP support and a 1–3 day sourcing timeframe.

Here's the distinction I wish I had understood from the beginning.

Dropshipman provides a browser extension that allows merchants to select products from Temu/AliExpress and import them into Dropshipman/Shopify. I used Dropshipman's own system to select and import products, and Dropshipman's app displayed inventory quantities for them.

I reasonably believed this meant I was building a store around products their service could fulfill.

That isn't necessarily the case.

When I actually placed a test order, it went into sourcing. Dropshipman later explained to me in writing:

“Temu listings are used as product references, but fulfillment depends on availability from our supplier network.”

Product references.

That is a HUGE distinction when the exact product matters.

Importing a Temu product and Dropshipman actually being able to source that product are two different things. Dropshipman did not simply purchase my imported product from the Temu seller whose listing I had selected. They attempted to locate it through their own supplier network. I specifically asked why they couldn't purchase the same doll from another Temu seller who had it available.

The displayed inventory was therefore also misleading to me. Dropshipman's app showed inventory for the product I imported, but that did not establish that Dropshipman's supplier network could actually fulfill it.

For my business, that distinction is critical.

I sell therapy dolls. If a customer purchases a particular doll, a completely different doll isn't an acceptable substitute simply because it's in the same general category.

My test order involved a silicone therapy doll selling for roughly $170 on Temu. My assigned manager eventually told me:

“I have checked with many factories that the product is out of stock. I have found one alternative product. Please check if you can accept it.”

The proposed alternative wasn't a slightly different version of the same product.

My response was:

“That is a completely different doll - not even silicone.”

My manager later acknowledged that they were unable to provide a
“highly similar alternative.”

I then did the sourcing homework myself.

I searched Temu, found multiple listings/SKUs for the same or matching doll, and supplied them to Dropshipman. Support acknowledged that the SKUs were for the exact products I wanted and told me they would forward them to the sourcing team.

At one point I even questioned whether I had caused the original problem because I had changed SKU numbers while organizing my products. I contacted Dropshipman about it, provided the appropriate product information and exact matching SKUs, and continued trying to resolve the issue.

It didn't solve the problem.

Both of my September test orders ultimately failed sourcing.

Dropshipman's own order system showed:

Order #1003 — September 19 — SOURCING FAILED
Order #1004 — September 23 — SOURCING FAILED

I continued working with Dropshipman between attempts, provided additional product information and matching SKUs, and tried again.
Two September test orders. Two sourcing failures. Zero successfully sourced products.

There was also the sourcing time.

My Plus plan advertised a 1–3 day sourcing timeframe and priority sourcing processing. When I separately asked customer service how long sourcing usually takes, I was told:

“It usually takes 1 to 5 days to complete the sourcing.”

My second test order wasn't marked Sourcing Failed until seven calendar days after I placed it.

Thankfully, I was the customer.

These were test orders I placed myself because I wanted to know what my customers would experience before trusting Dropshipman with a real customer's expensive purchase.

Imagine having to explain to a customer who purchased a specific expensive doll that your fulfillment service can't obtain the product you sold them—and after waiting, the proposed substitute is a completely different, cheaper doll that isn't even made from the same material.
I'm not willing to put my customers in that situation.

Ultimately, Dropshipman itself wrote:

“We sincerely regret that the products you submitted could not be sourced.”

And that summarizes my experience.

I spent hours importing products, editing listings, configuring my store, communicating with my assigned agent, supplying SKUs, placing test orders and waiting for sourcing—all believing I was setting up a fulfillment service capable of fulfilling the products I imported.
What I did not manage to do was get Dropshipman to successfully fulfill a single order.

That doesn't mean Dropshipman won't work for someone else's business. If you're selling inexpensive or relatively generic products where substitutions are acceptable, this model may work perfectly well for you.

But if you sell products where the exact item matters, my strongest advice is:

PLACE TEST ORDERS FIRST.

Do it before spending weeks building your store. Do it before advertising. Most importantly, do it before a real customer places an expensive order.

Do not assume that because Dropshipman allows you to import a Temu/AliExpress product—and displays inventory for it—that its supplier network can actually obtain that exact product.

I tested it first.

Thankfully, I was the customer.

Horrible! All their products I listed on my store showed sold out all the time. I contacted their agent Nicole and never got a response. Unsubscribe me.
