There was indeed a system issue that allowed translation usage to exceed the expected credit limit without the safeguards we intended to have in place. The Basic plan includes **10,000 credits**. Additional credits are only required when the amount of content being translated exceeds the included usage. Credit consumption is based on the actual amount of content and the target language, with approximately **1–3 credits per translated word depending on the language**.

For this reason, the amount of credits required cannot be determined simply by saying that a store has 50 products. It depends on the actual amount of text contained in those products and the other store content being translated.

We’re also concerned that the figures stated in this review may be misleading. The claim of needing **25,000,000 credits ($2,500)** for a store with 50 products does not correspond to the credit calculation used by Locales.ai. Before a translation is started, the app clearly shows the content to be translated and the estimated credit usage, so merchants can see the expected cost before committing to the translation.

There is no requirement to purchase $2,500 worth of credits or to proceed with a translation after seeing the estimated usage. Merchants can review the estimate first and decide whether Locales.ai is suitable for their store.
